Description

This property has 2 great holiday cottages, a cute bach below and stylish home sitting above it high on the hill near Palm beach.  The 2 houses together is perfect for a larger family group, or group of friends wanting to be together!  And they are just a couple of minutes walk from the wonderful Palm beach.

Big Sister is at the top (Number 24) has a large sunny deck with lovely views across the valley.  The property sleeps 6 in 3 bedrooms, and is a good place for the whole group to gather together.   It is is very stylishly furnished & well set up, with a smart TV, a Bluetooth speaker, and a Nespresso machine. There is both indoor & outdoor living & dining areas.  It is eco-friendly, being an off the grid property.

Little Sister is below (Number 22), and is a quintessentially classic kiwi bach, which has has been recently renovated, and has both character and style.  It has a lovely flat lawn, and again a nice outdoor dining & living area.  

The houses are up a steep driveway, a short walk from the lovely Palm Beach - which many locals claim is the best beach on the island - but don't tell everyone!  There is also a store, a bottle shop & a great restaurant, Arcadia, as well as a great playground for the kids. So you rarely need to leave the area...just hide away in this little slice of paradise!

We loved our time on Waiheke Island. You cannot beat this location. A couple of mins walk to Palm Beach and the little cafe and shops which was our go to spot after a swim each morning.

We had a great family holiday weekend here. Check in was easy with a lockbox and very clear instructions. As it states, the driveway is very steep but we had no problems with a 10 seater van, just not that accessible on foot for elderly grandparents. Location is perfect a few mins from Palm Beach and the house is well equipped. Would highly recommend.

Great place to stay utilising both houses to accommodate the whole family. Top house is lovely with a beach theme and everything you can think of is available for use. Bottom house is super cute and homely if a little drunk and quirky and we loved it. Large flat fenced in yard made it perfect for kids. Host was also fantastic in coming to our rescue when the portacot and high chair were forgotten and organised us a last minute rental. Thanks so much.

A comfortable stay that works great for larger groups. The bach is an older building and it shows, but that is part of the charm. Be aware that the nearby shops have reduced hours or are closed completely over the winter, so it’s a good idea to bring the essentials with you if you are checking in later in the day. Strongly recommend the houses and hope to be back.
